Connecting with Nature: Placemaking and the Urban Garden

Konrad Buhagiar moderating the upcoming MICAS conference

AP's executive director Konrad Buhagiar will be moderating the panel discussion of the conference organised by the Malta International Contemporary Art Space (MICAS) as part of their Education and Community Programming Strand (MEC). Titled "Connecting with Nature: Placemaking and the Urban Garden", the event will host local and international speakers from various creative disciplines and academia, who will be exploring the challenges of dense urbanisation and the role of the urban garden as a connector and as a space for fostering of biodiversity.

Prof. C.J. Lim (UCL, Bartlett School of Architecture) will open the conference with the keynote lecture "Romance and Resilience: Landscapes of the Imagination",  which will be followed by a contribution by Mario Balzan (MCAST) on "Planning effective and multifunctional nature-based solutions". The concluding panel discussion moderated by Konrad will include Elisabeth ConradAnton GrechGeorgina Portelli, and Stephen Saliba.
