AP Valletta is looking for a motivated and talented architect to join its international team in a full-time role at our studio in Valletta.

The successful candidate will be an architect ready to take ownership of defined project components and to work with a growing degree of independence. Conversant with architectural and construction drawings, she/he will contribute across all project stages, from concept through to construction documentation, while coordinating with consultants and colleagues and continuing to develop the competencies required to progress towards senior roles. She/he will work on a variety of projects of varying scale and complexity, independently or within a team, and will enjoy working in a flexible and stimulating studio environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • take ownership of defined project components, including design development, drawings, models and documentation, to the practice’s design and quality standards;
  • contribute to design development across all project stages, from concept through to construction documentation;
  • coordinate with consultants, stakeholders and internal teams on the delivery of project work;
  • co-ordinate and prepare submissions to statutory authorities and follow up on approvals and compliance requirements;
  • assist with contract administration, including tender documentation, specifications and bills of quantities;
  • participate in project meetings, design reviews and site inspections;
  • support junior colleagues and contribute to knowledge sharing within the practice;
  • ensure that work produced meets the required quality standards and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Master’s degree in Architecture;
  • a warrant to practise as an architect (perit) in Malta, or the eligibility to obtain one, is considered an asset;
  • a minimum of three years’ experience in practice since qualifying, preferably in Malta; selection will prioritise skill set and aptitude, and not necessarily length of experience;
  • experience across a range of project scales and typologies, including large residential, commercial or public commissions;
  • sensitivity to heritage contexts, and experience working within or adjacent to conservation or cultural heritage frameworks, is considered an asset;
  • experience coordinating with other disciplines across project phases;
  • strong design, technical and graphic skills;
  • proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, the Adobe Suite and BIM workflows;
  • knowledge of Rhino is considered an asset;
  • demonstrated participation in architectural competitions or design exhibitions is considered an asset;
  • excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Maltese and any other language is considered an asset;
  • a passion for design, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic.
