We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented and site-experienced Site Engineer (Structural) to join our team on a full-time basis, primarily based on a large construction site in Malta.

The role involves acting on behalf of the Lead Consultant (Architecture and Engineering firm), ensuring that construction works are executed in accordance with the design intent, technical specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be confident on site, well-versed in construction practices, and capable of coordinating effectively between contractors and the design team.

We are open to candidates with a background in Structural Engineering or related disciplines, ranging from early-career professionals with strong site exposure to more experienced individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • represent the Lead Consultant on site, overseeing day-to-day construction activities and ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements;
  • inspect and monitor works to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to approved structural and architectural documentation;
  • identify and flag discrepancies, non-conformities, and potential issues in a timely and solution-oriented manner;
  • issue clear and timely site instructions in coordination with the Lead Engineer and design team;
  • attend, organise, and minute site meetings, maintaining accurate and structured project records;
  • keep detailed site records, including progress updates, inspections, instructions, and correspondence;
  • liaise closely with the Lead Engineer and project team at the office, ensuring smooth communication and feedback loops;
  • coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other consultants to facilitate efficient project delivery;
  • assist in reviewing shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions from a site perspective;
  • contribute to maintaining quality standards on site.

Requirements:

  • degree in Structural Engineering and a solid understanding of structural principles;
  • solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site practices;
  • minimum 8 years experience in site supervision, inspection, or construction coordination on reinforced concrete frame buildings;
  • ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings with confidence;
  • familiarity with the Eurocode suite and construction standards;
  • strong organisational skills with attention to detail and record-keeping;
  • effective communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in a site environment;
  • ability to work proactively, take initiative, and make informed decisions on site;
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit is essential;
  • fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Maltese and other languages is an asset;
  • enthusiastic, reliable, and professional with a strong sense of responsibility.
