
As part of the festival’s programme, Jacques Borg Barthet will deliver a lecture titled "From Renaissance to Revit", showcasing AP Valletta’s long-standing commitment to the historic city of Valletta and its layered architectural legacy. The talk will highlight the AP Valletta’s vision of adaptive reuse and sustainable design through a selection of projects that span scales and typologies.
Also featured in the lecture series is "The Myth of Abundance / Water is Heritage", presented by Mireille Tabone. The research documents the evolution of Malta’s water infrastructure, addressing the socio-environmental implications of water management on the islands.
Through these two lectures, Ħaġra Festival 2025 highlights the enduring relevance of architecture that is both critically reflective and deeply rooted in place. AP Valletta’s is a testament to the studio’s influential role in shaping Malta’s contemporary built environment through a lens of heritage, sustainability, and innovation.
