
Against the backdrop of Milan Design Week, AP Valletta’s collaborative design with David Kojo Derban for the Osu Salem School in Accra was named winner of the ‘New and Old’ category, and overall ‘Highly Commended’ in this year’s awards. Associate Partner Erica Giusta talked through the interdisciplinary project, emphasising the importance of international recognition as a powerful leveraging tool in realising its conservation and regeneration.
The design for the Osu Salem school is a culmination of the multi-disciplinary project ‘Valletta Accra’, headed by AP Valletta, David Kojo Derban and Ann Dingli, as an encompassing research methodology for heritage regeneration design based on parallel observation and evidence gathering.
