Against Climate Change

Architects' Council of Europe taking action.

Date 30.09.2019–04.10.2019
Venue EU Parliament, Brussels

Dock N.1 will be part of the ACE (Architects' Council of Europe) exhibition related to the publication "20 Projects Against Climate Change". The exhibition will feature 20 projects which are helping raising awareness on climate change in European countries and which are offering sustainable solutions within architectural projects. Before the exhibition opening, architects and members of the EU Commission will gather to discuss case studies and sustainability strategies.

David Felice, one of AP's executive director, will be presenting the Dock No.1 project and its sustainability considerations, including NEPTUME (No-Discharge Energy-Efficient Prototype for the Treatment of Urban Municipal Effluent), on which AP has collaborated with the Biology Department of the University of Malta, Argotti Botanical Gardens and the Water Services Corporation (WSC). NEPTUME is a wastewater treatment plant which purifies municipal waste from local sources. The filtered wastewater is now fit for use as irrigation for the surrounding vegetation and landscape. The other supply for irrigation comes from the reconditioned historic water reservoirs from the Knights’ and British periods.
