AP Valletta’s design proposal for the international competition 'Berlin-Brandenburg 2070' is part of the exhibition 'Unfinished Metropolis – Unvollendete Metropole' taking place in Berlin. In the occasion of the centenary of the establishment of the Greater Berlin (which counts approximately 3.9 million people), the exhibition goes through the formation of the Municipality of Berlin, a project which has suffered from many setbacks, and its future. A year ago, the city of Berlin called for architects and urban planners to re-think and restructure the Region, planning the future development of the area.

AP Valletta took part in to the international competition with a proposal based upon two main pillars: decentralisation and self-sufficiency. The challenging task of imagining one of the most complex German regions in 50 years from now, gave us the opportunity to work on major sustainability-related themes that should be central to any project, in Malta as well as in continental Europe.
